Describe your story and characters: How did you come up with this idea? What are you trying to communicate to your readers?
I’ve been viewing the comic “Bob and George” and Megaman appeared to be a superhero. So, I looked deep inside my mind for a comic about this weird super villain and a weird superhero, with a sidekick that screws up a lot. So, I used the characters for the strip. But they needed names. Since the strip was random and weird, the characters needed random and weird names. I thought the super hero’s name should be long, so I thought of Ultra Super Guy Man. Then, I thought of a new character: The Science Profesor. He was just supposed to be a smart guy. Then, I gave him a funny trait: being obsessed with a magic 8 ball. Then, I thought of the supervillian’s personality. He was just supposed to be pathetic, and thought of pathetic inventions for pathetic goals. Then, I thought of the sidekick. Usually, the sidekicks get their hero’s out of trouble. This one gets the superhero INTO trouble. Every time they go on a mission together, he screws things up with his laservision powers.
Does your comic evoke a certain feeling?
Not really. It’s supposed to be funny. People who have never been on the internet before will probably say something like, "This comic is weird!" People who just like serious stuff will probably not like this strip.
What materials & techniques did you use to make your comic?
I drew cartoony heads, which I’m good at, and just drew circles for bodies. I’m not good at drawing arms or hands, so I just drew sticks for arms, and circles for hands. I figured I do the same for the legs and feet.
Is this a successful comic? Is there anything you would change or improve?
I hope for it to be successful, I’ve got funny ideas.
What did you learn?
I learned how hard it is to create a web comic! First, you have to hand-draw it, second, you ink it (hardest process) third you color it.
Other comments about your creative process: I always try to think of good humor. I also try not to steal humor from other people. I find it wrong. Very wrong.
